China became the world’s second largest wind power
Council 12, announced the global wind generator in China last year overtook Germany to become world’s second largest after the United States wind power.
Reports to manage and guide the operation of the world’s wind power Global Wind Energy Council said that in 2009, China’s rapid development of new energy makes wind power amounted to 2.58 billion watts, more than 2.577 billion watts of Germany, second only to United States 35 gigawatts, which holds the world’s total wind power 36%.
Global Wind Energy Council forecasts that China will invest enough in 2020 to achieve annual energy output of 15 billion watts of wind turbines, to overtake the U.S. as the world’s largest wind energy producer.
The Association also believes that the rapid growth of the economy and thus of the huge energy demands for China have to develop renewable energy as an important national strategy. Although China has large areas of new energy growth, China’s wind power generation account for only 1% of the total power consumption.
